Maybe it gets better when i drive WRC Cars on it. The Surface mostly feels like it just slows down the cars but it doesnt develop any Fun driving on it for me. At first it didnt give me much, but the more i play it and especially with the older Rally Cars it almost became my new favorite Rally Event.ĭriving the upgraded 60s Fuvia on Germany is really really fun with my settings. Just Awful atm.īut i was surprised how much i liked the German Rally. Its like driving a hoovercraft on steroids. I really Hate the Hillclimb and the Driving feel of the Pikes Peak Cars. Doesnt feel right to me, more like a compromise. The Trenches on the Side of the roads feel a bit endangered and the Car doesnt react that much when your wheels hit them as you would expect them. But on my old Colin McRae games i had more respect of them. I tried the Finnland update and i love the 2001 WRC Cars and the Finland STages are rly fun and fast. I tweaked a bit around on the FFB Settings to get a better feel on tarmac, and sacrificed a bit feeling on loose surfaces. It gets boring to always start with the 60s cars.įor Playing i use the Alternative Cam Pack, because the game still doesn allow any setup pof Seat and Cam position.įor better FFB and Physics i use the Realistic Mod from Templar SFX mostly together with Realistic Damage, Impact FFB and some Physics changes. The creating your own Championchip Function is great. It says no connection to Steam or Racenet. It supports Mouse now, but you actually dont need Mouse anyways, as its easier to navigate with keyboard.īut finally i can see the right keys to change weather and Skins and so on, no more messing around anymore^^įor some reason i cant use Online Events or PVP. Same **** as with every Codemasters Game i had since Grid. Still have the problem of the Game always forgetting my Wheel Settings every time i start the game anew. I must say i am really pleased and a bit dissapointed atm. I didnt even had much interest in the German Rally and Rally cross update. I did dig out Dirt Rally as well this week after some weeks not playing it. One minor thing I'd like to see is the UI remembering which country I picked last for a custom rally, so that I don't have to look for it so often. Pacenotes can always be better, and hope they'll keep getting so, because there's room for improvement. I'm liking Finland, but I'm curious as to how good Sweden's snow will turn out to feel in a few content updates' time. First I tried to get away with using the basic setup options, but having transformed especially the Manta 400 into a fun beast from an imprecise missile, there's no going back. Now that I have some kilometres under the belt, I've noticed how much the default setups of some cars don't suit me. The lack of rotation is so distracting that I have to use the dash view, even though I'd much prefer to use the cockpit one on principle. My fault for using an inferior input device, but annoying nonetheless. Because it's so limited, a lot of the time I have no clue where the front wheels are really pointing, which means getting into many pendulum swings as I overcorrect blind. By far and away the biggest issue I have with DiRT Rally is the steering wheel animation. Couldn't find a way to use manual gears comfortably with the pad, no such problems now. Now that I got my PPJoy/GlovePIE routine sorted post-patch, keyboard+mouse works quite well, I'm liking it more than using a Playstation 3 pad.
